Pepper should always come from a grinder, freshly ground, not a shaker. The holes on the salt shaker don’t look large enough for the better quality salts available. Also, these pieces look to be make of some sort of plastic. So they probably won’t have a long life and I don’t like my food in plastic of any sort.

Each can hold 4 oz of salt, pepper or any other ground spices and seasonings. They have white screw-on lids. Large hole openings allow the contents to flow easily. This glass shaker features the Golden Harvest emblem and title on the front. Ball Salt and Pepper Pack: Classic country farmhouse style shaped like Ball canning jars; 4 oz size4/5(43).

Apr 16,  · “A small but noticeable table manner faux pas would be when at a large gathering someone asks for the salt or pepper shakers to be passed,” says Geri Sheffey, owner of Piedmont Cotillions. “Correct table etiquette states they should always be passed around the table as a pair. Most folks will only pass the shaker that is being requested.”.

Our daughter is allergic to pepper and garlic - so passing her the pepper when she asks for salt can end a meal quickly with a trip to the emergency room if it spills. We have learned to live with this over time and dining out can be adventurous.

Nov 18,  · The most vintage of all is this hand painted salt and pepper shaker that is well over years old. I love the hand painted roses and the gold tops. Just look at all the holes these are a bit hard to tell what is the salt and witch one is the pepper. I love these, they belonged to my Great Uncle's Mother.

Kimchi. NOTE: The high salt content is due to the pickling process. Most of the salt is rinsed off! Kimchi is a traditional Korean side dish made from a variety of vegetables, which are salted and then mixed with hot pepper flakes, onion, garlic and spices.
